Many states have regulations on weed control products. However, they are frequently unable to enforce them. We have customers in every state.
If a Lake Association has a permit for a lake already, no additional permit is needed.
IMPORTANT! All invasive aquatic plant control projects are subject to regulation under Maine’s Natural Resources Protection Act. Before planning any control project, contact the Maine Department of Environmental Protection for specific permit requirements (800-452-1942 or milfoil@maine.gov).
Called a “permit by rule” and you can download the permit form here. Your purpose is “Movement of Rocks or Vegetation.” The permit fee is $164. All native aquatic plants are strictly protected by Maine law.
